Hey my friends!
You might have seen that recently I travelled to Miami and Palm beach, which was the perfect trip for getting a bit of sun and relaxation, whilst still having so much to do.
One of the stays I’ve been dying to tell you about was the few days we spent in Palm Beach. We drove up from the keys, so it was quite a change of scenery!! There seems to be two “it” places to stay in Palm Beach, The Breakers and the Colony Hotel. It was an easy choice, classic hotel or pink hotel.. simple, right?! It was absolutely beautiful here and the decor was SO incredible – so you can imagine I was totally in my element and brimming with ideas for little touches to replicate in my new house.
It has a really retro but classy feel, with an upbeat vibe, but also with a pool and plenty of areas to just relax and unwind if that’s more what you feel like doing. Everything is catered for and maintained at a really high standard, too, so you can literally go there and instantly feel like you’re on location somewhere really special. The staff were also top tier, and even gave us a tour of Palm Beach when they found out it was our first trip, so lovely!
Restaurant highlights in Palm Beach
Cucina Palm Beach
I feel like I could talk about all the amazing the food we ate on this trip ENDLESSLY! Everything in the area was so good with tons of choice. We arrived pretty late, with no reservation, but managed to walk in to – Cucina Palm Beach restaurant on Royal Poinciana Way. I couldn’t recommend this enough. It was full of large groups and families on vacation which gave an amazing laid-back but buzzing atmosphere.
Of course, I’d done my research and KNEW I had to have the chicken parmigiana, it was incredible. To start we had the meatballs, again amazing. My only frustration about this place was the wobbly table, so distracting, but they were full so couldn’t move us.
Swifty’s – at The Colony Hotel
The even lovelier thing about staying at such a great hotel, is having restaurants located just downstairs which match up to the quality of the hotel you’re staying at, without needing to leave. Swifty’s at The Colony, famed for its iconic and beloved reputation in New York, has recently found a place in here. We had the choice of indoor or outdoor dining – we chose to sit around the beautiful outdoor swimming pool. They served a range of menus throughout the day: including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and cocktails. There was also tables underneath the romantic hanging garden, or inside the sophisticated bar and lounge.
Across the selection of menus you can choose from throughout the day, they serve their famous Billionaire’s Bacon and Meatloaf, an incredible breakfast menu, high-quality seafood delicacies and delicious, fresh dishes from the grill. Plus in the evening there’s again, a really lively social scene with live music and occasional performances. I could have easily eaten here for every meal, every day of the trip, I wanted to try it all!
The yogurt parfait was a personal favourite for breakfast, and of course a bakery basket! For dinner, I opted for the french onion soup and crab salad on the side, both divine!
La Goulue
A trip one night to La Goulou Palm Beach just had to be done. I know they tell you to never follow the crowd but I feel like food is definitely an exception to that rule. When asking for recommendations this came up time and time again and, of course, I’ve heard so many good things about their New York restaurant – it was a must!
The absolute highlight of this restaurant for me – was the DESSERTS. I’m still thinking about the chocolate fondant I also had the french onion soup for mains and it was so delicious. Clearly I was a little obsessed with French Onion soup during this trip – it was SO good!
Everything on the menu encapsulates true French cuisine, along with the chic-bistro feel of the restaurant itself truly having the atmosphere you’d expect to feel in Paris. Cosy, lively and focused around amazing food and drinks. The perfect date night hotspot if you ask me!
If you’re ever looking for some luxe down-time whilst in Florida, perhaps after a busy trip to Disney World or a city break in Miami, I promise you, if you book a few days at The Colony or nearby, you won’t be disappointed! The perfect way to round off a wonderful trip in the state.
