I spent my Christmas in the luxurious, world-renowned Four Seasons resort, in Whistler, here’s everything about my hotel stay…
Ok, let me fill you in! When we decided to spend Christmas in Whistler I just knew we had to stay at the Four Seasons, it was everything i’d dreamed of for a white Christmas in the mountains. The room we had was a mountain view room. It was absolutely incredible and I couldn’t have asked for any more from the room. The views, were… WOW. I couldn’t stop admiring the beautiful scenery and how well set the hotel was for snow filled views of the mountains – it definitely was a highlight when I woke up on Christmas morning – it was SO magical.
The room itself, was just everything you picture of a wintery, mountain resort. One of the key highlights which just was the icing on the cake, after spending the day in the snow or skiing on the mountains, was that every room has a fireplace! Giving it that real snow ‘cabin’ feel, but yet still with all the modern aspects of a luxury hotel room!
If you’re looking for some feedback on the more practical aspects of the hotel; at the base of Blackcomb Mountain, which is right near the hotel, is the Four Seasons Ski Concierge, where you can store all of you ski equipment during your stay. There was also bike hire, which I didn’t get to try, but would be perfect for the spring/summer months and I hope to go back then to explore the resort in all its beauty in the warmer months! I hear there are some INCREDIBLE hikes.
The food available at the hotel was amazing, although the restaurants were hard to get reservations for during our stay, so I would definitely recommend perhaps booking in when you make your hotel booking, so that you know you have a dinner or lunch space arranged in advance. Their restaurant called ‘Sidecut steakhouse’ is a must visit! They also had a bar on site, called the Braidwood Tavern which was a lovely way to unwind after a busy day.
We spent most evenings in the out door hot tub, where they served drinks until late evening.
As you’d expect, there was also a gym at the resort, along with ‘The Library’, which was cosy, quiet place to escape and play a board game or read a book outside of your room – and of course, with a roaring fire. Other facilities they offered, were perfect for families staying also, as the Four Seasons offered childcare for when needed, a playroom, art classes and special holiday events for the children throughout the year. Along with same day newspapers and magazines being available. As I said, everything was so well thought out and taken care of. It truly is the perfect place for a memorable getaway, but also feels like a home from home where you don’t need to worry about anything.
A highlight of the hotel for me, was the Braidwood cafe. Open from 7-11am, I loved my stroll to get a morning coffee! It took all of two days until they knew my order off by heart, it’s the little things!
As you’d imagine, staff were super welcoming, they made it their mission to remember little details and make you feel like family throughout your stay. Anything that you needed, they were happy to help and make possible. This is always such an important aspect for me when staying anywhere, as amazing service makes your stay go so much smoother and allows you to feel more at ease.
This stay was definitely one I will remember for a long time and I can’t wait to go back already!
Happy New Year!
